I have always adored singing in large outdoor concerts. Here I am at the Sedona Jazz-On the Rocks Festival in Arizona which drew on this day over 7,000 people.

I look up to the heavens and give gratitude to my ancestors for the blessing of song.

It is magical, performing toward the deep green of the lawns against the sculptured red rock mountain formations…as the wild audience dances their asses off! They too seem particularly joyous when they’re out beneath the open sky. The children spin, do somersaults and go crazy. The usually shy men,  join the dance also , emboldened by more room to stretch out. The women in their sexy summer dresses love to catch their skirts on the breezes as they twirl and shake their hips. Everybody climbs in deep to the groove and they keep their eyes on me on that stage to see how far I’m gonna take it!  I sing out..Let’s go babies!! Wanna go??? And they yell back” ” LET’S GO!” And That Red Rock Rocks!!!!
