My full-length play with music .22 Caliber Mouth was blessed by being chosen as the winning choice of the Eugene O’Neill Musical Conference Center in Waterford Connecticut.
There, the amazing Paulette Haupt exposed my play to some of the finest broadway actors and directors I could have ever dreamed of. The goal of the summer spent there was to produce a workshop of the play, for a paying public, so that I, would have the opportunity to see where the play might need re-writes and changes.
We were also granted audiences with critics such as Michael Feingold from the Village Voice, Broadway’s Craig Carnelia, Tom Viertel and others to give us feedback about our work.
The O’neill was a life changing experience.
.22 Caliber Mouth was extremely well received…the musical hit of the season and also won that year, the Georgia Bogardus Holof Award for best lyrics in a musical!
Lauren here with Tony – nominated actor David Pittu who directed .22 Caliber Mouth for the O’Neill and well known Musical Director/Conductor/Arranger F. Wade Russo who brought her musical to life that magical summer of 2004.
